In 2003, a group of concerned citizens in Martinsville and Henry County began working to create a Boys & Girls Club in the area as a means of responding to the community's need for a safe and affordable place for kids to go during after school hours. In 2004, Boys & Girls Clubs of Martinsville & Henry County opened its doors.
In 2008, the national organization, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, determined that establishing a new regional organzation in the Marinsville and Henry County area would further the mission of the Clubs and assist with future expansion into undeserved areas and populations in Virginia.
Under the new corporate structure, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Blue Ridge assumed operations of the Martinsville and Henry County Clubs, which continue to serve over 800 Club members annually.
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Blue Ridge continues to make a significant difference in the area because we believe that Great Futures Start Here.
