Our Mission

"In 2003, a group of concerned citizens in Martinsville and Henry County began work to create a Boys & Girls Club in this area as a means of responding to the community’s need for safe, affordable, fun, and positive spaces for kids to go during after school hours. In 2004, Boys & Girls Clubs of Martinsville-Henry County (BGCMHC) opened its doors.

 

In 2009, BGCMHC became Boys & Girls Clubs of the Blue Ridge, Inc. Today, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Blue Ridge continues to serve over 500 Club members annually, while  working to serve the needs of other youth and families in our area.

 

Each Club site participates in daily activities that focus on different core values. Evidence-based BGCA programs help students succeed by providing fun recreational activities, healthy and active lifestyle lessons, character and leadership development opportunities, mentorship, and academic assistance.
